THe NEW BUREAU

We are a social impact incubator and technology studio.
For decades we have harnessed emerging technologies, design systems and social innovations. Coupling these toolsets with a global network of critical-thinkers --that span every sector of expertise-- we drive measurable social change.

We ask questions such as: What is the empathy and compassion of technology?

What or who will be excluded or harmed from a solution?

Because we can, should we?

Overview

SolveOS is an educational platform we have spun out of The New Bureau. We are developing it to help kids learn how to be global problem solvers so they can be resilient and empowered global citizens.

By combining technology and the UN Sustainable Development Goals we empower kids to be curious and empathic problem solvers.

Our youth deserve the right to have agency over the problems they have inherited. They deserve respect as both creative and curious minds that will solve the problems of today and tomorrow. Our life depends on it.

Our CHALLENGE

Our environment, food, water, health, prosperity and species are facing challenges that we currently are are ill prepared for as a civilization to solve. All of our lives depend on getting ahead of these challenges.
The speed of innovation is not out-running the speed of the damaging impact humanity has had on the planet. We need to accelerate our vision and action so that problem solving can be faster than the speed in which these damaging circumstances have been created.

Our SolvePAK combines advanced and emerging technology with open source content to empower kids to understand the world around them. Sensors, communications and cloud computing are combined to help kids experiment, create, and solve.

The below video is a demo of the SolvePAK app exploring wind energy to help kids understand the variability of renewable energy sources. We use these tools to help them connect simple concepts to large scale global issues. The app uses Augment Reality to connect htem tho thier physical word.

The following videos show the power of AI as of 6 months ago. These robots have a nervous system, vision, touch, and balance. Millions of years of evolution in spatial awareness, motor control and vision have been captured in code and silicon. This is not the future, this is a reality now. How are you preparing our kids for this reality?
